Recently, Spring announced a critical vulnerability with their MVC version running on Apache Tomcat. This is an application that uses Spring Framework for their Java-based technologies by many web-based applications and services, including PrinterOn services. When exploited, this vulnerability can allow hackers to enable remote code execution (RCE) via data binding. This vulnerability affects all CPS installations of PrinterOn.
To close this vulnerability, PrinterOn recommends that you install PrinterOn Enterprise version 4.3.9, and run the Spring MVC vulnerability patch.
Note: To upgrade from a version earlier than PrinterOn Enterprise version 4.3.9, you must first upgrade to version 4.3.9, then run this script. Please refer to the Release Notes for more information on the upgrade path.
PrinterOn strongly recommends applying this patch as soon as possible.
Recently, Apache announced a critical vulnerability with their log4j API, a logging library for Java-based applications used by many web-based applications and services, including PrinterOn services. When exploited, this vulnerability can allow hackers access to servers and run code remotely. This vulnerability affects all installations of PrinterOn as well as servers hosting standalone instances of Print Delivery Station, Print Delivery Hub, and Print Delivery Gateway.
To close this vulnerability, PrinterOn recommends that you install PrinterOn Enterprise version 4.3.9, if at all possible.
Note: To upgrade from a version earlier than PrinterOn Enterprise version 4.2.8, you must first upgrade to version 4.3.0, then upgrade to version 4.3.9. Please refer to the Release Notes for more information on the upgrade path.
If it is not possible to install the latest version of the software, PrinterOn has provided a patch to close this vulnerability, along with a README file that outlines the steps to apply the patch. PrinterOn strongly recommends applying this patch as soon as possible.

PrintWhere 6.2.7 is the last version to support the PrinterOn Generic PCL Driver. If you use this driver, download one of the following installers. PrintWhere 6.2.7 has also been updated to include the HP PageWide Color MFP 780/785 PCL 6 (V3) driver, introduced in PrinterOn 4.3.4, to make this driver available for users in 32-bit environments.
Print Delivery Station is installed on a PC at your location and collects print jobs sent using your PrinterOn web-based Printing Service and provides a privacy release interface for allowing users to release their documents at the printer. This keeps documents confidential and prevents unwanted print jobs from printing. Documents are secure and encrypted until they are released.
The PrinterOn Print Delivery Gateway software serves as a gateway for submitting documents to PrinterOn-enabled printers. PDG allows documents to be submitted from iOS devices, using Google Cloud Print or through Windows print protocols. The Print Delivery Gateway acts as a bridge that can support multiple print workflows and enables IT Administrators to streamline the deployment, management, and administration of the PrinterOn service and associated printers.
The PrintConnect is a ready-to-go, compact network device embedded with the PrinterOn mobile printing software. The PrintConnect connects directly to a local network or to a printer via USB to enable secure mobile printing anywhere. No PC is required. The PrintConnect Config File Generator utility creates configuration files to set options for communication on the network and to the PrinterOn website.
